Ryan Reynolds Launches Major Charity Initiative for Canadian Youth

The Hollywood star commits $10 million to support arts education programs across Canada.

Ryan Reynolds, the Vancouver-born actor and entrepreneur, has announced a groundbreaking $10 million charity initiative aimed at supporting arts education for Canadian youth. The program, named "Create Canada," will provide funding for schools, community centers, and arts organizations across the country.

Speaking at a press conference in Vancouver, Reynolds emphasized the importance of arts education in his own journey to success. "Growing up in Canada, I had access to drama programs and creative outlets that changed my life," Reynolds said. "Not every kid has that opportunity, and we're here to change that."

The initiative will focus on underserved communities, providing grants for equipment, instruction, and performance opportunities. Reynolds has partnered with several major Canadian institutions, including the National Arts Centre and the Toronto International Film Festival, to ensure the program's success.

Blake Lively, Reynolds' wife, also spoke at the event, pledging her support for the initiative. "Ryan and I are committed to giving back to the communities that shaped him," she said. "This is just the beginning."

The first round of grants will be distributed in early 2026, with applications opening next month. Reynolds has also announced plans to personally visit several recipient programs throughout the year, offering mentorship and encouragement to young artists.

Industry leaders have praised Reynolds for his commitment to philanthropy, with many calling it one of the most significant celebrity-led charitable initiatives in Canadian history.
